The inaugural Women’s Andhra Premier League (WAPL) kicked off with Godavari Golden Eagles, led by skipper Henrietta Flar Ellutla Padmaja, on 19th September 2026, at ACA Stadium, Mangalagiri
Rayalaseema Xen Stars won the toss and opted to bowl first. Avula Sireesha got them off to a dream start, scripting history by dismissing Peka Vinny Suzan on the first ball of the competition’s history. Bareddy Anusha cleaned up Sadi Aditi Megna Reddy to reduce the Godaveri Golden Eagles to 8/2 in the 3rd over of the innings.
Skipper Henrietta Flase, and the duo led the recovery with a much-needed 53-run stand for the 3rd wicket. Vemulapati Setu Sai broke the stand by sending Gundupalli Udvitha (30 off 36 balls) back to the pavilion in the 12th over of the innings to provide the crucial 3rd breakthrough for her side
A 27-run stand for the 5th wicket between K Pushpi Tha Gowda and skipper Henrietta Fla took them past the 100-run mark. The Golden Eagles eventually posted a total of 116/7 in their quota of 20 overs
Bareddy Anusha (4-0-19-3), skipper Ellutla Padmaja (4-0-17-2), and Avula Sireesha (3-0-22-1) were the top performers with the ball for Rayalaseema Xen Stars. Malakonda Poojitha (3-0-13-0) was impressive in her spell with the ball. The innings had 3 extras.
Chasing a target of 117, the Rayalaseema Xen Stars openers Vemulapati Setu Sai and Kolathur Subhasri got their side off to a solid start with a 47-run opening stand. Skipper Vemulapati Setu Sai (33 off 23 balls) back to the pavilion in the 9th over of the run chase to provide the much-needed 1st breakthrough for her side.
Rayalaseema Xen Stars got over the line with an unbeaten 46-run stand for the 4th wicket between Bareddy Anusha (13* off 12 balls) and a breezy cameo from the skipper, Ellutla Padmaja (30* off 18 balls), to seal the game with 7 wickets in hand and 15 balls to spare. The innings had just four extras.
Peka Vinny Suzan (4-0-16-1), Korukonda Harika (3-0-10-1) and skipper Henrietta Fla were the only wicket-takers with the ball for Godavari Golden Eagles
