Starc responded by pointing out that 19 Tests were still left and jokingly suggested that he could then ride off into the sunset. Mitchell Starc said, “Yeah, 19 to go, then I can ride off in the sunset, I don’t know. But, uh, I don’t think I’ll be first to go of the boys. Um, yeah. Going right.” The comment immediately caught Alyssa Healy’s attention.

The tall speedster revealed that he had bowled alongside Australia captain Pat Cummins earlier that morning and planned to have another bowling session before flying to South Africa to join the Australian team for the three ODIs and as many Tests as possible this week.
Starc further shared, “No, it’s no, I’ve got plenty more than that. I don’t think I’ll be first to go. Yeah, going alright, going well. I have bowled with Pat this morning and then get one more bowl in before I get on the plane over to South Africa and then meet the boys over there. So, yeah, it’s excellent.”

Starc said, “She’s back at work now. But she thoroughly enjoyed the first few months post-retirement. My personal favourite was receiving a photo of her and having fun with friends.”
Notably, Healy announced her retirement from international cricket earlier this year. The former Australia women’s captain called time on her international career after her final multi-format home series against India in February-March 2026.
