Warwickshire Bears Women have signed left-arm quick bowler Alexa Stonehouse on a two-year deal from Surrey. The 21-year-old spent the 2026 season on loan at the Bears and impressed during her time with the Club. She will now join Warwickshire permanently for the 2027 and 2028 seasons. Stonehouse has already become an important part of the team during her loan spell. She will now continue her progress with a side she already knows well. The agreement confirms her next two seasons with Warwickshire.
Stonehouse has made 17 appearances across formats for Warwickshire in 2026, taking 16 wickets across different formats. Thirteen of those wickets have come in the One Day Cup. Her performances have already made a strong impression at the Bears. She will now have the chance to build on that work over the next two seasons. Those numbers show the impact she has made this season.
Stonehouse came through the South East Stars Academy before signing for Surrey ahead of the 2025 season. She played 19 times for the Kia Oval side in her first year and helped them win the inaugural T20 Blast title. She then joined Warwickshire on loan for 2026. Her career has also included international opportunities, giving her useful experience at a young age. She has continued to develop since coming through the academy system.
Stonehouse was selected to represent England at the 2023 ICC Under-19 T20 World Cup. She took six wickets at an average of 11.33 during the tournament.
