Marco Jansen’s four catches included an extraordinary effort to dismiss Matt Renshaw.The Australian batter had made 44 from 49 balls when he pulled a short delivery from Gerald Coetzee towards the leg side.
Jansen ran across from his position, launched himself towards the ball and completed a one-handed catch with his right hand despite having to cover considerable ground.
The catch was described on commentary as one of the great ODI catches, with Marco Jansen managing to hold on despite the ball travelling quickly towards the boundary.
Renshaw’s dismissal came at 215/7 and proved to be an important moment as Australia lost another wicket during their innings, before eventually losing the match by 67 runs.

Jansen admitted that he initially did not believe he would reach the ball but decided to make an attempt as soon as he saw the opportunity.
“Yeah, so I saw the ball go up and then initially I didn’t think at all I was going to get there. But yeah, I think in the spur of the moment, like in a split second, I know I decided that I’m going to go for it. It doesn’t matter whether I get there or not.”
The all-rounder said he realized midway through the ball’s flight that he had a chance and then committed fully to the dive. He said:
“And then halfway through, like halfway the ball was in the air, I felt like I could get there. And then yeah, I just told myself, just dive and see what you can do. And luckily I got there.”
“I’m left-handed, so it’s not my preferred hand to catch. But yeah, it’s one of those where I think it’s one of those where it sticks or it doesn’t.”
