The opening encounter of the Canada Women’s Super60 2026 delivered an absolute thriller at SC Place, Vancouver, as Toronto Sixers Women locked horns with <a href="https://cricket.international/where-to-watch-match-1-toronto-sixers-women-vs-vancouver-warriors-women-live-streaming-details/" title="Where to Watch Match 1 – Toronto Sixers Women vs Vancouver Warriors Women? Live Streaming Details”>Vancouver Warriors Women in a high-octane T10 contest.

Toronto Sixers Women were sent in to bat first, and their innings got off to a shaky start. Captain Mady Villiers and Bess Heath opened the batting, putting on a rapid 25-run stand for the first wicket. Villiers scored a brisk 6 off 5 balls before falling to Grace Scrivens, caught by Sebeh Aslam in the third over at 25/1. Heath continued to strike the ball cleanly, scoring 28 off 16 balls (3 fours) before being run out by Reid at 42/2 in 4.2 overs. Toronto Sixers Women picked up another quick breakthrough when Marizanne Kapp bowled Sterre Kalis for 16 (10 balls, 3 fours), reducing Vancouver to 53/3 in 5.2 overs.

The match hung in the balance, but Saachi Dhadwal and Ella McCaughan anchored the final phase with absolute poise. Together, they shared a crucial 44-run fourth-wicket partnership. McCaughan chipped in with a handy 9 off 8 balls (1 four) before falling to Mannat Hundal at 97/4 in 8.1 overs. Dhadwal remained the star performer of the chase, smashing an unbeaten 41 off just 20 balls, packed with 2 fours and 4 towering sixes. Joined by Sane Purandare (1* off 2 balls) as they finished on 106/4 (10).

Toronto Sixers Women tried six different bowling options to defend their score. Captain Marizanne Kapp led from the front with the ball as well, picking up 1/17 in her 2 overs. Grace Scrivens picked up 1/20 in her 2 overs, while Mannat Hundal proved effective with 1/10 in her solitary over. Among the remaining bowlers, Jess Joseph conceded 18 runs in 2 overs, Sebeh Aslam went for 18 in 2 overs, and Ritu Priya Singh yielded 22 runs in her 1 over without taking a wicket.

Vancouver Warriors in reply had openers Camy Desai and wicketkeeper-batter Sophie Reid set the tempo, stringing together a brief 16-run opening stand. However, Vancouver Warriors Women struck early through Sophia Smale, who dismissed Sophie Reid for 7 (4 balls, 1 six) in the second over, leaving the score at 16/1. Disaster struck shortly after when a sharp piece of fielding led to Camy Desai being run out by Laura Cardoso and Bess Heath for a 7-ball 9, leaving Toronto Sixers Women in a spot of bother at 22/2 in 2.2 overs.

With early wickets falling, Marizanne Kapp stepped up as the captain and played a magnificent knock to completely reshape the innings. Joined by Grace Scrivens, the pair engineered a match-defining 84-run partnership for the third wicket. Kapp was in relentless form, smashing an unbeaten 74 off just 31 deliveries, laced with 6 fours and 6 maximums at an incredible strike rate of 238.71. Scrivens provided crucial support, contributing 15 off 11 balls with 2 boundaries, before she was caught by Saachi Dhadwal off Laura Cardoso’s bowling at 106/3 in 8.5 overs.

Phebe Molkenboer joined Kapp for the final few balls, finishing on 1* off 1 ball, as the Warriors chased down the total with 6 balls to spare. Vancouver Warriors Women’s bowling attack worked hard to contain the scoring rate amidst Kapp’s onslaught. Vandana Mahajan was the most economical of the lot, giving away just 16 runs in her 2 overs. Sophia Smale registered figures of 1/23 in 2 overs, while Saachi Dhadwal picked up 1/29 in her 2-over spell. Laura Cardoso took 1/11 in her single over, while skipper Mady Villiers (0/14 off 1 over) and Indu Barma (0/14 off 1 over) remained wicketless.
