Pakistan spinner Abrar Ahmed has risen to the top of the ICC Men’s T20I Bowling Rankings after a significant movement in the latest update. Abrar has moved ahead of Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan to claim the No.1 position with a rating of 736, while Rashid has slipped to second with 735 points.
The latest rankings also bring Harry Brook closer to a rare achievement across formats. The England captain is currently ranked No.1 in Tests, No.4 in T20Is and No.12 in ODIs, putting him in contention to become the only current batter inside the top 10 across all three formats at the same time.
Sikandar Raza aims to bag No.1 spot in ICC ODI All-rounder Rankings
Zimbabwe captain Sikandar Raza has closed the gap on Afghanistan’s Azmatullah Omarzai in the ICC ODI all-rounder rankings. Raza has moved to second with 276 points after finishing the ODI series against Australia as the leading run-scorer for Zimbabwe while also contributing three wickets.
Raza scored 45 and an unbeaten 81 in the final two matches of the series. His batting performances also helped him climb five places to 24th in the ODI batting rankings. In the series decider, he added two wickets despite Australia eventually winning the contest by one run.
Nathan Ellis, Australia’s leading wicket-taker in the series, has climbed three places to 17th among ODI bowlers after taking four wickets in the final two games, following his maiden five-wicket haul.
Shreyas Iyer climbs to 22nd spot in ICC T20I Batting Rankings
India T20I captain Shreyas Iyer has made significant progress in the T20I batting rankings, moving up seven places to 22nd. His rise follows India’s 3-0 T20I series win over Afghanistan and his contribution in the close one-off T20I against Japan.
England’s white-ball series against Sri Lanka also produced several major movements. Jamie Overton made the biggest jump among the players, climbing 47 places to sixth in the T20I bowling rankings with a career-best 674 rating after his performances during England’s series victory.
Sri Lanka’s Dunith Wellalage climbed seven places to 22nd in the ODI all-rounder rankings after contributing 45 runs and taking a wicket in the first ODI. Jos Buttler, meanwhile, moved two places to joint fifth in the T20I batting rankings after finishing the series as the leading run-scorer.
Harry Brook aiming to enter Top 10 across all ICC Rankings
Harry Brook has continued his rise in the white-ball rankings following England’s dominant series against Sri Lanka. He finished the T20I series as Player of the Series after scoring 237 runs, including an unbeaten 33, as England completed a 3-0 sweep.
Brook has now reached fourth in the T20I batting rankings with a career-best 793 rating. His 67 in the opening ODI against Sri Lanka also lifted him three places to 12th in the ODI batting rankings.
Brook is already sitting at No.1 in the Test batting rankings, having regained the top position in August.
