Hardik Pandya is far from being declared fit for any kind of competitive match. Since the conclusion of the Indian Premier League 2026 (IPL 2026), the star pace-bowling all-rounder has been in Bengaluru for the rehabilitation process at the BCCI’s Center of Excellence (CoE).

According to the latest updates, Pandya is still not fit to return soon to the India National Cricket Team, which is a massive setback for the team as the Men in Blue are currently preparing for the 2027 ODI World Cup.

Latest updates on Hardik Pandya’s fresh injury

Without Pandya in the team, the team management needs to continue the experiments in the pace bowling department.

Abhishek Tripathi, a Dainik Jagran reporter, previously claimed through his ‘X’ post that Hardik Pandya has injured himself for the second time during the rehabilitation period. In his latest ‘X’ post, Tripathi further claimed, “Hardik has a symptomatic right tibial bone stress response with no structural bone damage or established stress fracture.”

Hardik Pandya felt discomfort in his right shin

Hardik Pandya was expected to take the field soon with the India A cricket team for the one-day format series against the Australia A cricket team. The Australia A cricket team is in India for a multi-format series.

Some of the cricketers, whose fitness remains under scanner is named to play for the India A cricket team in the series against Australia A cricket team. Hardik Pandya was one of the main names mentioned in the three-match One Day format series, starting on October 6. If he remains unfit and keeps experiencing pain, then he is unlikely to play in the series.

Earlier today, it was widely reported across media outlets that the all-rounder experienced discomfort in his right shin. Why Hardik Pandya experienced the pain was not revealed at the time. Later, on today afternoon, the reason behind his discomfort came under the light. If the claims made by Tripathi’s report are to be believed, then the 32-year-old has developed a symptomatic right tibial bone stress response with no structural bone damage or established stress fracture.

Will Hardik Pandya make his Team India return during the series vs New Zealand?

Pandya last played a professional match during the IPL 2026 season with the Mumbai Indians. During the campaign, he missed several matches due to a back spasm. Later, he developed multiple other setbacks while trying to recover from the previous one.

After the conclusion of the white-ball series against <a href="https://cricket.international/good-news-for-india-shubman-gill-cleared-to-play-1st-odi-vs-west-indies/" title="Good news for India: Shubman Gill cleared to play 1st ODI vs <a href="https://cricket.international/where-to-watch-2nd-odi-zimbabwe-women-vs-west-indies-women-live-streaming-details/" title="Where to Watch 2nd ODI – Zimbabwe Women vs West Indies Women? It was assumed that by proving his fitness against Australia A, Pandya could make his India return during the series against New Zealand. The upcoming India tour of New Zealand 2026 begins on October 22, 2026, featuring five T20Is, five ODIs, and two Test matches.

In a latest statement, head coach Gautam Gambhir confirmed that only the fully fit players will be considered eligible for selection for the 2027 ODI World Cup.
