Bangladesh National Cricket Team wicketkeeper-batter Litton Das has scripted history in the Test cricket with a record-breaking performance against Afghanistan National Cricket Team in Abu Dhabi. Litton Das became the first player in Test cricket to score two half-centuries or more and take nine dismissals behind the stumps in a single match.

The experienced wicketkeeper-batter broke the previous record held by South Africa’s Denis Lindsay, who had recorded eight dismissals along with a century and a half-century in the same Test in 1966. Das achieved the historic feat on his 32nd birthday, making the occasion even more special. Amid this, Ollie Pope is among 3 England players to boycott Afghanistan Premier League T20.

Litton Das has been stunning with both the bat and gloves during the one-off Test match between the Afghanistan National Cricket Team and the Bangladesh National Cricket Team.

He scored a century and a half-century in this match while also taking some excellent catches and completing impressive stumpings behind the stumps against Afghanistan.

Litton shared a crucial 149-run partnership for the seventh wicket with Mehidy Hasan Miraz, who remained unbeaten on 52 off 97 balls, hitting five fours. Bangladesh declared their second innings at 372/7 after resuming the day at 223/6. Amid this,Afghanistan Premier League: ACB confirms Indian investor interest ahead of return.

Bangladesh had scored 346 in their first innings before dismissing Afghanistan for 240, securing a 106-run lead. Their second innings gave Afghanistan a challenging target of 479 runs to win the one-off Test in Abu Dhabi.

Afghanistan face daunting task as they lost five wickets

Afghanistan suffered an early setback when Abdul Malik fell for two, edging Ebadot Hossain’s delivery to Litton. Shahidullah was next to depart for 19 off 19 balls, including four boundaries, after Hasan Mahmud took the catch behind the stumps.

Afghanistan was struggling at 28/2. Captain Rahmat Shah joined Sediqullah Atal and added 82 runs for the third wicket. Rahmat scored 51 off 124 balls before Ebadot dismissed him, leaving Afghanistan reeling at 110/3.

Atal and Hashmatullah Shahidi then took Afghanistan to 132/3 at stumps. Afghanistan still needs 230+ runs to win, while Bangladesh needs only five wickets to win the one-off Test in Abu Dhabi.
