In the 4th match of the Women’s Uttarakhand Premier League (WUPL) 2026 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Dehradun, Dehradun Warriors Women (DW-W) won the toss and opted to bat first against Mussoorie Queens Women (MQ-W). The decision quickly backfired as the Mussoorie Queens bowling unit hit their strides early on.
Dehradun Warriors suffered an immediate setback when opener Kareena Singh fell for a 4-ball duck, caught by Tanvi Tomar off Nisha Mishra with the score at just 1 for 1 in 0.4 overs. Muskan Kumari attempted to rebuild alongside Neelam Naresh Bhardwaj, stringing together a brief 12-run second-wicket partnership before Muskan was bowled by Priyanshi Tomar for 10 off 14 balls (1 four) at 13 for 2 in 3.5 overs.
The innings found some desperately needed stability through a 32-run partnership for the third wicket between Preeti Bhandari and Neelam Naresh Bhardwaj. Neelam contributed 11 off 14 balls with a boundary before she was caught by Aarti Bhandari off the bowling of Pooja Raj, leaving the Warriors at 45 for 3 in 8.1 overs. This brought skipper Sweta Verma to the crease, and together with Preeti, she anchored the most prosperous stand of the innings.
The duo put together a crucial 62-run partnership for the fourth wicket, counter-attacking the Mussoorie bowling lineup. Preeti led the charge with an explosive 59 off 38 balls, smashing 11 fours and a six. However, the floodgates opened once Preeti was bowled by Tanvi Tomar at 107 for 4 in 14.3 overs. For MQ-W, Nisha Mishra was the standout bowler, delivering a lethal spell of 4 for 14 in 4 overs. Chasing a target of 124, Mussoorie Queens Women controlled the game right from the top of their innings. Openers Nandini Kashyap and Aarti Bhandari laid a solid foundation with a dynamic 44-run opening partnership. Aarti set the tempo early, scoring a crisp 27 off 21 balls, featuring 2 fours and 2 sixes, before she was clean bowled by Amisha Bahukhandi. Tanvi Tomar came in at number three but had a brief stay, managed just 1 run off 4 balls before being run out by Preeti Bhandari, leaving MQ-W at 2 for 48.
From that point forward, captain and wicketkeeper-batter Nandini Kashyap took full command of the run chase. Joined by Dipika Chand, the pair forged an unbeaten 77-run partnership for the third wicket to comfortably steer their side home. Nandini batted through the innings to anchor the chase with a superbly calculated 62* off 64 balls, laced with 8 boundaries. Dipika provided energetic support at the other end, matching the pace with a brisk 27* off 22 deliveries, hitting 2 fours and a six.
Mussoorie Queens Women strolled past the target, reaching 125 for 2 in 18.3 overs to secure a convincing 8-wicket win. Among the Dehradun Warriors bowlers, Amisha Bahukhandi was the sole wicket-taker with figures of 1 for 22 in 4 overs.
