The Amaravati E Champions, led by skipper Neeragattu Anusha, were up <a href="https://cricket.international/top-3-india-women-players-to-watch-out-<a href="https://cricket.international/top-3-sri-lanka-women-players-to-watch-out-against-pakistan/” title=”Top 3: Sri Lanka Women Players to Watch Out Against Pakistan”>against-bangladesh/” title=”Top 3: India Women Players to Watch Out Against Bangladesh”>against the Vizag Fire Birds, led by skipper Anjali Sarvani, in the 2nd game on the opening day of the inaugural edition of the Women’s Andhra Premier League on 19th September 2026.

Vizag Fire Birds won the toss and opted to bowl first. The Amaravati openers, Parasa Lakshmi and skipper Neeragattu Anusha, capitalised on the opportunity and laid a solid platform with a 60-run opening stand.

Saranya Gadwal got the big scalp of the opposition skipper Neeragattu Anusha (10 off 11 balls) in the 8th over of the innings to provide the much-needed first breakthrough for the Fire Birds. The wicket-keeper batter Katragadda Deeksha (43 off 30 balls) joined Parasa Lakshmi at the crease, and the duo took them to the 150-run mark with a massive 90-run partnership for the 2nd wicket.

Amaravati E Champions posted a strong total of 163/4 in their quota of 20 overs. The opening batter Parasa Lakshmi registered an enterprising century (102 off 74 balls). The Fire Birds were very disciplined with the ball, conceding just a couple of extras in the innings. Saranya Gadwal (4-0-25-1), Palnati Rishika Krishnan (4-0-29-1) and skipper Anjali Sarvani (4-0-30-1) were the only wicket-takers with the ball for Vizag Fire Birds.

Chasing a challenging total of 164, the Fire Birds were pushed on the back foot early on, losing Koppula Divya Sree Dasari Vishwasree and Pendyala Sarayu in the opening over of the run chase. The wicket-keeper batter Veera Vidya Sree joined Vurukuti Pushpa Latha, and the pair led some sort of a recovery with a much-needed 29-run stand for the 3rd wicket.

Tarini Joshi broke the stand by sending Veera Vidya Sree (6 off 14 balls) back to the pavilion in the final over of the powerplay to provide the 3rd breakthrough for her side. Skipper Anjali Sarvani joined Vurukuti Pushpa Latha at the crease, and the duo stitched another vital 61-run stand for the 4th wicket, which also took them closer to the 100-run mark. Kandregula Devika got the big scalp of the opposition skipper Anjali Sarvani (24 off 22 balls) in the 14th over of the innings, providing the 4th breakthrough for Amaravati.

An unbeaten Sai Thanmayi (7* off 5 balls) and Ayesha Singh (35* off 26 balls) took the Vizag Fire Birds to 146/6 in their quota of 20 overs, falling 17 runs short of the target. Vurukuti Pushpa Latha (60 off 43 balls) registered a brilliant half-century, top-scoring with the bat for her side. The innings had 6 extras.

Kandregula Devika (4-0-19-2), Ankam Vishnu Priya (3-0-15-1), Tarini Joshi (4-0-28-1) and Karri Sai Poojitha (3-0-31-1) were the top performers with the ball for Amaravati E Champions. Parasa Lakshmi was awarded the Player of the Match for her sensational century (102 off 74 balls). Her knock included 14 boundaries and 4 maximums.
