Suryakumar Yadav has given Mumbai Indians fans a major reason to believe he will continue with the franchise for IPL 2027. The T20 World Cup-winning India skipper shared a video on Instagram on November 3, featuring the Mumbai Indians logo repeatedly alongside the IPL’s familiar theme music. The clip showed him batting in the nets and playing several of his trademark shots.
The post comes amid speculation over Suryakumar Yadav’s future, with reports linking him to multiple franchises ahead of the IPL 2027 auction. While the video is a strong indication of his continued association with Mumbai Indians, it is not an official retention announcement.
Suryakumar Yadav was chased by several big IPL teams, claimed reports
Suryakumar Yadav’s future became a major talking point after reports suggested that several franchises were monitoring his situation at Mumbai Indians. Lucknow Super Giants, Kolkata Knight Riders and Delhi Capitals were among the teams linked with a possible move for the India batter.
LSG were reportedly interested in Suryakumar as a potential leadership option after questions emerged over their captaincy plans. Some reports floated a possible swap involving Nicholas Pooran. However, there was no reliable confirmation that Mumbai Indians and Lucknow Super Giants had agreed on such a deal.
KKR were also linked with their former player, who represented the franchise before joining Mumbai in 2018. A possible return to Kolkata attracted attention because of his earlier association with the team. Delhi Capitals were mentioned in other reports as a potential destination, although details of any formal approach were not established.
