West Indies Women will travel to Zimbabwe for a six-match series featuring three ODIs and three T20Is from 24 September to 7 October 2026. Cricket West Indies has retained most of the group that toured Ireland and played at the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in England and Wales. Captain Hayley Matthews will lead the team in the ODI leg before taking personal leave ahead of the T20I series. Veteran Deandra Dottin has also been granted personal leave and will not take part in either series.

There are limited changes to the squad for the Zimbabwe tour. All-rounder and Under-19 World Cup prospect Eboni Brathwaite has been selected as Dottin’s replacement. Chinelle Henry returns after the injury that affected her T20 World Cup campaign and replaces Qiana Joseph, who has not been selected for the tour following a drop in form. The squad will therefore have 15 players for the ODI series and will reduce to 14 for the T20I series after Matthews departs.

Head Coach Shane Deitz said the team is looking forward to the Zimbabwe tour and the challenge ahead. “We are looking forward to this tour of Zimbabwe”, said Head Coach Shane Deitz just prior to departing the region. “They are a side we haven’t played much, and, in their conditions, there will be some challenges. We have a young squad, so this is a great opportunity for some players to step up and take their opportunity at this level.” The series will give younger players a chance to take responsibility.

The series is part of West Indies Women’s continued preparation across both formats. The team will look to build on the progress made during the Ireland tour and the T20 World Cup campaign. The group includes experienced players along with younger members, while Henry returns after the injury that affected her World Cup campaign. With Matthews leaving before the T20I series and Dottin unavailable for the tour, the team will have changes across the two formats.

West Indies Women’s Squad for Zimbabwe tour:

*Hayley Matthews (C), Aaliyah Alleyne, Eboni Brathwaite, Shemaine Campbelle, Jahzara Claxton, Afy Fletcher, Jannillea Glasgow, Realeanna Grimmond, Shawnisha Hector, Chinelle Henry, Zaida James, Mandy Mangru, Ashmini Munisar, Karishma Ramharack, Stafanie Taylor

Series Schedule

1st ODI – September 24, 3:30 AM AST / 2:30 AM JA @Harare Sports Club, Harare

2nd ODI – September 27, 3:30 AM AST / 2:30 AM JA @Harare Sports Club, Harare

3rd ODI – September 30, 3:30 AM AST / 2:30 AM JA @Harare Sports Club, Harare

1st T20I – October 3, 7:00 AM AST / 6:00 AM JA @Takashinga Cricket Club, Highfield

2nd T20I – October 5, 6:00 AM AST / 5:00 AM JA @Takashinga Cricket Club, Highfield

3rd T20I – October 7, 6:00 AM AST / 5:00 AM JA @Takashinga Cricket Club, Highfield

The Zimbabwe tour will continue West Indies Women’s preparation in both formats after the Ireland tour and T20 World Cup campaign. The side will begin with the announced 15-player ODI squad before moving to the 14-player T20I group after Matthews’ departure. Brathwaite replaces Dottin, while Henry returns in place of Joseph. The announced team management unit will support the squad throughout the six-match tour in Zimbabwe. The six scheduled matches will also see the squad continue its preparations across the two formats during the Zimbabwe tour.
