Jake Fraser-McGurk scripted history on Saturday by securing a thumping half-century off 14 balls, which led to a 49-ball century in a One Day Cup match between South Australia and Queensland.
The 14-ball 50 was a record-breaker as Fraser-McGurk became the fastest ever Australian batter to complete a fifty. With McGurk’s power-packed century, South Australia piled up a total of 397 runs for 7 wickets.

On the way to secure the half-century,the top-order batter surpassed his own records as well. In the Indian Premier League (IPL), the Aussie star smashed 15-ball half-centuries twice in his league career; one against the Mumbai Indians and the second against the Sunrisers Hyderabad.
The 24-year-old right-handed batter opened the innings for South Australia against Queensland in Adelaide and played a stunning knock of 122 runs off just 63 balls. To decorate the innings, he registered 10 fours and 9 sixes. Fraser-McGurk’s 50 runs off 14 balls is currently the fastest fifty by an Australian batter in an official cricket match, including List A, first-class and T20 format matches.
