The stakes couldn’t have been higher at Vancouver on October 02, 2026, as the Toronto Sixers Women locked horns with the Vancouver Anchors Women in a high-voltage Eliminator clash of the Canada Super60 Women tournament. Highlighting top-tier women’s cricket live action, both sides brought their best strategies to the field, but it was Toronto’s clinical bowling attack and explosive batting response that stole the show, securing a resounding 9-wicket victory with 16 balls to spare.

Taking the crease first under pressuring knockout conditions, the Vancouver Anchors Women opened their batting order with Laura Harris and Eman Asim. Harris looked aggressive early on, hammering a quickfire 25 off 14 balls laced with a boundary and 3 massive sixes before falling to Vandana Mahajan, caught behind by wicketkeeper Bess Heath at 27/1 in the 4th over (3.1 ov).

Captain Fatima Sana then joined Asim to construct a stabilizing second-wicket partnership, pushing the team forward with a solid build-up. Sana crafted a neat 20 off 15 deliveries with two maximums, but her departure at 58/2 in the 8th over (7.1 ov), again caught by Heath off Laura Cardoso, triggered a sudden, dramatic middle-order collapse.

Cardoso struck again on the very next ball, cleaning up Phoebe Franklin for a golden duck (0 off 4 balls) at 58/3 (7.5 ov). Shortly after, set batter Eman Asim was caught by Mady Villiers off Amarpal Kaur for 12 off 16 balls (1 six), leaving the Anchors reeling at 58/4 (8.2 ov). The slide continued when Rabbjyot Rajput was stumped by Heath off Indu Barma for a 5-ball duck at 62/5 (9.3 ov). Unbeaten lower-order contributions from Alexa Stonehouse (4 off 3 balls) and wicketkeeper-batter Anika Kolan (3 off 3 balls) helped round off the innings at 65/5 in their allotted 10 overs.

The Toronto Sixers Women’s bowling attack was extraordinary in keeping the score restricted. Vandana Mahajan set the tone with an economical 1/5 in her 2 overs, while Laura Cardoso delivered a game-changing spell of 2/16 in 2 overs, including a maiden. Amarpal Kaur was equally stingy, taking 1/3 in her solitary over, and Indu Barma chipped in with a tidy 1/13 from 2 overs. Tight overs from Sophia Smale (0/18 in 2 overs) and captain Mady Villiers (0/10 in 1 over) ensured the Anchors never got away.

Chasing a modest target of 66 runs in 10 overs, Toronto’s openers Mady Villiers and Bess Heath came out with clear intent, instantly mounting pressure on the opposition. The opening duo forged a brisk 34-run partnership in just 3.2 overs before skipper Villiers was caught by Stonehouse off Harseerat Kaur for 14 off 13 balls (hitting 2 fours). However, that was the only celebration Vancouver’s bowlers would enjoy for the remainder of the match.

Joining Heath at the crease, Sterre Kalis anchored one end smartly with an unbeaten 12 off 13 balls (1 four). At the other end, star performer Bess Heath went on an absolute rampage, punishing the bowling unit with a blistering 37 not out off just 18 deliveries, stacked with 5 boundaries and a huge six. The pair put on an unbroken 35-run stand for the second wicket, breezing past the target at 69/1 in just 7.2 overs.

Vancouver Anchors’ bowlers struggled to contain the flow of runs during the chase. Harseerat Kaur provided the only breakthrough, finishing as the pick of the pack with 1/7 in her 2 overs. Meanwhile, the remaining attack, Alexa Stonehouse (0/15 in 1.2 overs), Fatima Sana (0/13 in 1 over), Rabbjyot Rajput (0/8 in 1 over), Laura Harris (0/10 in 1 over), and Grace Ballinger (0/11 in 1 over), could not stem the tide as the Sixers marched comfortably into the next round.
